HFC,PS’s bronze or aluminum plaques are an educational tool meant to encourage recognition, stewardship and preservation of the district's historic resources.

Placing a National Historic Register plaque on a home is a powerful way for a homeowner to honor and preserve the unique history of their property. This plaque serves as a public acknowledgment of the home's historical, architectural, or cultural significance, offering a connection to the past for future generations. It can enhance the homeowner’s sense of pride in owning a piece of history while also contributing to the cultural fabric of their community. The plaque can also raise awareness about the significance of historic preservation, inspiring others to care for and appreciate heritage buildings.

Additionally, displaying a National Historic Register plaque can bring added value to a property. It can increase interest from potential buyers who value historic homes and are drawn to the story and character behind them. The plaque also demonstrates a commitment to maintaining the home’s original architectural integrity, which can be seen as a mark of respect for craftsmanship and the legacy of past generations.
